To summarize how it all works, we've broken our procedures into several major steps: Needs Assessment Working as a team with each client. Tier One analyzes the company's needs to determine the skill sets required, to understand the organizational relationships, to identify the required work experience, and to note any other characteristics necessary for the successful applicant. Position Specifications Tier One prepares a written specification that outlines the duties and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications required of the ideal candidate, and the criteria for success. Subsequently, this specification guides Tier One's search efforts. Research The detailed specification is promptly shared with all team members and other Tier One network affiliates with relevant industry and functional expertise to pinpoint sources and prospects. Simultaneously, the research team accesses our databases of individuals, corporations, and other sources. Candidate Identification Professional staff members make selective calls to sources and prospects to identify and attract the most qualified individuals. During this period, the Tier One consultant reports progress frequently to the client. Candidate Interviews and Evaluation Through an interview process, a Tier One consultant evaluates each potential candidate on the basis of experience, training, and cultural fit with the client organization. Client-Candidate Interviews The Tier One consultant schedules a mutually convenient meeting between the client and each candidate, makes travel arrangements, and handles travel expense reimbursement. After each interview, the consultant contacts the client and each candidate for feedback. Candidate References Once the client determines the final candidate, the Tier One consultant contacts those individuals who can offer supplementary insights into the candidate's qualifications. Comments provided by these references are reviewed with the client. Process Completion As the search concludes, the Tier One consultant may assist in structuring the compensation package if the client wishes. Tier One contacts all individuals who were helpful during the search, thanking them on behalf of the client. Once the successful candidate is determined, the Tier One consultant assists and supports the candidate's transition into the new setting. |
